Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk which is the capital city of Belarus. Sergey, her father (who passed away in 2019), was an ice-hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. Her professional career has seen her achieve twelve WTA singles championships, which includes the Grand Slam in the Australian Open of 2023. In doubles, she is also an outstanding player. She's been a winner of two Majors in the past with Elise Mertens, her US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. In 2019, she was the winner of each of the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian Partner, who completed what is known as the Sunshine Double. This feat was made possible by four couples in female doubles. On 23 August 2021 she climbed to the second spot in the world singles ranking her best ranking reached again in January 2023. The Belarusian rose up to the top of the rankings for doubles the following year, after taking the title at Melbourne. This made her the only Belarusian tennis player to achieve success in the field. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) coached her for part of the season in 2019 as well as from the year 2018 until end. Dieter Kindlmann was her coach for a short time in August of 2020 until September. She has been trained by her native hero Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Serena Williams is her role for a role model, closely being followed by Maria Sharapova.
